The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud

Hi All I'm back...I've decided to post a book review...I haven't been on in a bit so as a thank you for bearing with me. The book I am currently reading is "The Amulet of Samarkand" by Jonathan Stroud. I'm not done it yet but so far it's good. It's pretty long but it has all the elements of a fantasy novel set in modern day London. It has Djinni, and ghosts along with imps and all the fantasy elements a magician's apprentice could handle...I'll let you know when I finish it by updating this post. If you have a request for a book I should review let me know!!!

OK so the Amulet of Samarkand is about a magician's apprentice named Nathaniel. He summons a djinni named Bartimaeus to steal the Amulet of Samarkand from Simon Lovelace. He gets himself into a bit of trouble and he has a riveting adventure...as I said I haven't finished it yet...when I do I'll let you know.

So I finally finished it...The Amulet of Samarkand is the first book in a trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. As I mentioned he summons a djinni named Bartimaeus. By the end of the book he manages to get himself into a whole wack load of trouble that even Bartimaeus cannot help him out of when Simon Lovelace hatches a plan to wipe out the magicians of London by summoning the most powerful demon available. To defeat this demon it takes all of Nathaniel's courage and strength, not to mention that he has to trust a djinni that knows his birth name, which is a big nono. It is a truly riveting tale and I hope that you will read it.
